Pant's innings was the key to India's victory. He came in with India in trouble at 58-4, and he played a captain's knock to guide his team to victory.
Shreyas Iyer scored 64 runs, Hanuma Vihari scored 58 runs, and Ravichandran Ashwin scored 40 runs for India. Kagiso Rabada took 4 wickets for South Africa.
The win was a major achievement for India, as it broke their nine-match losing streak against South Africa in Test cricket. It was also Pant's first Test series win as captain.
Pant has been in excellent form since taking over as captain. He has scored two centuries and four half-centuries in his last seven Test innings. He is quickly becoming one of the most important players in the Indian team.
