New Zealand's yearly number of homes assented down quarter



Wellington, Jan 11 (IANS) New Zealand saw 38,209 new homes assented in the year finishing off with November 2023, down 24 percent year-on-year, the public measurements division Details NZ said on Thursday.The yearly number of new homes agreed has kept on diminishing from its pinnacle of 51,015 in the year finishing off with May 2022, Details NZ development and property measurements chief Michael Heslop said.

In the year finishing off with November 2023, there were 22,251 multi-unit homes assented, down 22%, Xinhua news organization announced refering to StatsNZ information.

There were 15,958 independent houses assented, down 27%, Heslop said.

Multi-unit homes incorporate condos, lofts, retirement town units, and pads.

"In the year finished November 2023 the quantity of condos, pads and units agreed was higher than the quantity of independent houses," Heslop said, adding that the quantity of apartments, pads and units assented in the biggest city Auckland was over two times the quantity of independent houses assented in the period.

There were 2,958 new homes assented in the long stretch of November 2023, down 36 percent contrasted and November 2022, he said.
